Arm (away)your codeor#1
- An LED keypad's READY light must be on; an LCD shows SYSTEM: READY. You can't arm with a burglary zone open.
- Key in your 4-digit code. The ARM light comes on and an LCD shows ON: AWAY.
- Leave through your entry/exit door before the exit delay ends.
- If your installer has turned it on, [#][1] quick arms without a code. [#][2] also bypasses zones that aren't ready.
- You always need a code to disarm.
Arm while homeSTAYyour codeorINSTANTSTAYyour code
- Stay arms the outside of the house and leaves the inside zones off, so you can move about.
- When the system is ready, press [STAY], then your code. An LED keypad lights ARM and STAY; an LCD shows ON: STAY.
- If your installer has turned it on, [INSTANT], [STAY], then your code also drops the entry delay: anyone coming in sets it off at once (ON: STAY INSTANT).
Disarmyour code
- Coming in, the keypad sounds to remind you to disarm. An LED keypad also lights the zones you have set off, such as the door.
- Key in your code. The ARM light goes out.
- After an alarm, your code also silences the siren and the keypad.
Bypass a zoneBYPASSyour codezoneorBYPASSzone
- Each detector or door contact is a zone. A bypassed zone is not protected while the system is armed.
- With the system disarmed, press [BYPASS], key in your code, then the zone number (1 to 6).
- A beep confirms it; an LED keypad winks the zone's light slowly. For more zones within 10 seconds, press [BYPASS] and the number.
- If your installer has turned on quick bypass, [BYPASS] and the zone number is enough.
- Fire zones can't be bypassed. Do the same again to unbypass. Bypassed burglary zones normally go back to normal when you disarm.
Alarm memoryyour code
- During an alarm the ARM light blinks fast.
- Afterwards, on an LED keypad, the READY light and the light of each zone that went off blink fast: that's alarm memory.
- Key in your code to clear it. After a fire alarm, [*] clears it too.
Chime on or off#6
- If your installer has set chime on some zones and turned this command on, [#][6] turns chime on or off.
- It switches chime for the whole system. The keypad doesn't show whether it's on, so keep track.
- The chime is a steady 1-second tone from the keypad, and it only sounds while the system is disarmed.
Reset smoke detectorsyour codeor*
- Fire alarm sounding? Key in your code: it silences the bell and the keypad.
- Then clear the alarm memory (an LED keypad's READY light blinks fast): key in your code or press [*]. That resets the smoke detectors for about 8 seconds.
- [*] works for clearing fire alarms only, and is always on.
Panic alarm*+#or7+9or1+3
- Press both keys at the same time: [*]+[#] for Panic, [7]+[9] for Fire, [1]+[3] for Auxiliary.
- Fire and Auxiliary always work, and Fire always sounds. Panic works if your installer has turned it on.
- An XL4600SM keypad also has two keys marked P, top and bottom: press them together.
- Key in your code to reset a sounding panic, fire or auxiliary alarm.
- Forced to disarm? If your installer has set up ambush, user code 6 also sends a silent signal.
Change a codeCODEmaster codeuser numbernew code
- Only the master (user 1) can add or change codes, and only while disarmed. There are 6 users.
- Press [CODE], key in the master code, the user number (1 to 6), then the new 4-digit code.
- A steady tone means it worked. Four short tones mean it didn't: start again from [CODE].
- To delete a user: [CODE], master code, user number (2 to 6), then [*]. User 1 can be changed but not deleted.
- Keep the master code safe: if it's lost, the codes have to be reset in installer mode.
Trouble lights
- On an LED keypad, the zone lights and status lights show the system's state. An LCD keypad shows a message instead.
- A pulsing keypad sounder means a trouble, such as mains loss, a low battery or a fire zone. Your code silences it.
- Your code also clears a communication failure and the alarm memory.
- If no lights are on and the keys don't beep, the keypad needs service.

Is anyone watching your alarm?
An alarm that only makes a noise relies on someone hearing it. A monitored alarm reports to our A1 graded, NZSA approved control room, watched 24/7 by a team that is New Zealand owned and operated. We can monitor most existing alarms, so you may not need a new one. Thinking about a new alarm or security cameras? Ask us for a quote.
