Arm (away)your code#
- Start disarmed, with no zone light flashing from an earlier alarm. If one is, clear it first (see Alarm memory).
- Key in your user code, then press #. Leave no more than 10 seconds between digits.
- Two beeps, and the EXIT/ARMED light flashes. Leave by the exit door before the exit time runs out.
- One long beep and a steady EXIT/ARMED light mean it is armed. Five beeps mean a wrong code: key it in again.
- Code, *, 2, # arms at once with no exit time. Use it only if the keypad is outside the protected area.
Arm while homeyour codeHOME#
- HOME mode arms the outside doors and windows (the perimeter zones). The inside zones set for home mode are left off.
- Key in your code, press HOME, then #. Two beeps, and the EXIT/ARMED light flashes during the exit time.
- The lights of the zones left off keep flashing, to show those zones are not protected.
- When the exit time ends the EXIT/ARMED light stays on. You can move about inside.
- Code, HOME, 2, # arms HOME mode at once, with no exit time.
Disarmyour code#
- Come in by the door with the entry delay. You have 30 seconds unless your installer changed it.
- The keypad sounds through the entry time, unless entry beeping has been turned off.
- Key in your code, then press #. Two beeps, and the EXIT/ARMED light goes out.
- Five beeps mean the code was wrong. Wait for them to stop, then key it in again.
- After an alarm, code and # also stop the siren. The zone lights then flash to show which zones went off.
Bypass a zoneyour codeISOLATEzone#
- The HA-982 calls bypassing isolating, and you do it as you arm. Each detector or door contact is a zone, 1 to 8.
- Start disarmed with no alarm memory. Key in your code, press ISOLATE, key in each zone to leave off, then press #.
- Two beeps and the exit time starts. The isolated zones' lights flash the whole time: those zones are not protected.
- Disarming ends the isolation. Isolate a 24-hour zone only if you really have to.
- By default a zone still open when the exit time ends is isolated for you. With ARM PROHIBITED set, the system won't arm instead.
Alarm memoryyour code*3#
- After an alarm, once you have disarmed, the zone lights flash to show which zones went off.
- The memory stays until you clear it, and you must clear it before you can arm again.
- To clear it, key in your code, then *, 3, #. The flashing zone lights go out and the system stays disarmed.
- Or key in your code, then *, 6, # to clear it and arm in one go. Two beeps, and the exit time starts.
Panic alarmhold*+#
- Hold down any two keys together for 3 seconds, such as * and #. It works at any time.
- The keypad gives two beeps and the siren sounds. The keypad itself shows no sign of the alarm.
- If your system reports alarms, a panic report goes to the monitoring company or the dialler's phone numbers.
- Forced to disarm? Key in your code with its first digit 2 higher (1357 becomes 3357; a first digit 8 becomes 0), then #.
- This works only if your system reports alarms: it turns the system off, sounds no siren and sends a silent duress alarm.
Change a codemaster code**user numbernew code#**
- Key in the master code, then press * twice. The PROGRAM light comes on.
- Key in the code's location: 11 to 18 for user codes 1 to 8, or 01 for the master code.
- Key in the new code (2 to 5 digits), then press #. Five beeps mean it was refused: try again.
- To delete a user code, key in its location and press # with no code after it.
- Press * twice to finish. Don't choose another user's duress code (their code with the first digit 2 higher).
Test the systemyour code*5#oryour code*4#
- Do the tests with the system disarmed.
- Siren and strobe: key in your code, then *, 5, #. They run for 3 seconds. Nothing is sent to the monitoring company.
- Backup battery: code, then *, 4, #. The BATTERY light flashes during the 2-minute test.
- Two beeps and the BATTERY light going out mean the battery is fine. Five beeps and a steady BATTERY light mean it is low or flat.
- Monitoring link: code, then *, 50, # sends a status report. Tell the monitoring company first. Five beeps: it isn't set up.
Trouble lights
- The eight numbered lights above the keys are the zones. The lights on the left show the state of the system.
- Five short beeps every 5 seconds mean the phone line has a fault.
- If a fault light stays on, call your alarm company.

Why is my keypad beeping or showing a trouble light?
Most keypads beep or light up a trouble indicator when something needs attention, such as a low backup battery, a power cut or a lost phone or internet connection. Your user guide explains what each light or code means on your model. If it keeps happening, or you are not sure, call your installer or monitoring company.

Is anyone watching your alarm?
An alarm that only makes a noise relies on someone hearing it. A monitored alarm reports to our A1 graded, NZSA approved control room, watched 24/7 by a team that is New Zealand owned and operated. We can monitor most existing alarms, so you may not need a new one. Thinking about a new alarm or security cameras? Ask us for a quote.
