Arm (away)your codeONoryour codeENTER
- Your system arms with ON and disarms with OFF, or is set to toggle and uses ENTER for both. Your installer can tell you which.
- With There Are No Alarms In This Area and Code: showing, key in your PIN, then ON (or ENTER).
- If a list of areas appears, press 0 then ENTER for all (ALL_ON also works on toggle systems), or an area number then ENTER (toggle systems may not need it).
- The area lights come on. Leave before the exit time runs out.
- Seven quick beeps and the word unsealed mean an input is open: close it or isolate it. Seven beeps without unsealed mean a wrong PIN, or one this keypad won't accept.
Disarmyour codeOFForyour codeENTER
- Coming in, you have a set time to disarm before the alarm goes off.
- Key in your PIN, then OFF (or ENTER on a toggle system).
- If a list of armed areas appears, press 0 then OFF for all (0 then ENTER on toggle systems), or an area number then ENTER (toggle systems may not need it).
- The area lights go out.
- If duress is set up, use your PIN with its last digit one higher (a last digit of 9 becomes 0), then OFF or ENTER. It disarms as normal and sends a silent alarm.
Bypass a zoneMENUyour codeENTER10ENTERzoneENTER
- Challenger calls zones inputs, and bypassing isolating. Press MENU (the key also marked *), key in your PIN, then ENTER.
- Key in 10, then ENTER. The display lists the unsealed inputs, or says All Inputs are Sealed.
- Key in the input number, then ENTER, to isolate it. Isolating an input that is in alarm also resets that alarm.
- Press ENTER to go back to the menu, then 0 and ENTER to leave it.
- Once it's fixed, undo it the same way with option 11 (De-isolate). De-isolating an input that is still open may set off an alarm.
Alarm memoryENTERENTER
- With There Are No Alarms In This Area showing, press ENTER twice for the quick alarm history.
- The newest alarm shows first, with its type, input, time and date.
- NEXT steps back to older alarms, and 1 shows the input's name. ENTER takes you back.
- It won't open while an alarm is still active.
Reset an alarmyour codeENTER
- An alarm makes an area light flash, and There Are No Alarms In This Area goes from the display.
- To see which input caused it, press ENTER twice. NEXT shows the next one; a T before a number means tamper. 0 then ENTER goes back.
- With Code: showing, key in your PIN, then ENTER. The area light stops flashing and There Are No Alarms In This Area comes back.
- False alarm? Ring your monitoring company so they don't act on it.
- You can only reset alarms in your own areas. If the flashing area isn't one of yours, your PIN and ENTER will arm or disarm instead.
Local alarmENTERENTER0ENTER
- A local alarm happens while the area is in use, such as a fire door opening. It stays in the building and isn't sent to your monitoring centre.
- The keypad gives a steady tone and shows Local Alarm. Press ENTER twice to see which input caused it.
- Press 0 then ENTER to acknowledge it. The tone stops.
- Fix the cause, such as closing the door. If a reminder is set, it will alarm again after a set time until you do.

- Press MENU, key in your PIN, then ENTER. Key in 15, then ENTER.
- The display shows the time and date and asks for Hours. Key in the hour (24-hour clock) as 2 digits, then ENTER.
- It then asks for Minutes, Day, Month and Year. Key in each as 2 digits and press ENTER after it.
- You can't stop halfway: press ENTER to keep a value that's already right.
- The seconds go to zero and the weekday is worked out for you. Press 0 then ENTER to leave the menu.

- If your menu has it, press MENU, key in your PIN, then ENTER. Key in 12, then ENTER.
- Key in the input number and press ENTER. The display says SEALED or UNSEALED.
- While it is unsealed the keypad sounds a steady tone; the tone stops once it seals again.
- OPEN or SHORT means a wiring fault on that input.
- Press ENTER to test another input, ENTER again to go back to the menu, then 0 and ENTER to leave it.
Trouble lights
- The area lights and the display show how the system is. Not every keypad has all these lights.
- For a list of inputs needing attention, open the menu and choose option 1 (Panel Status). A means alarm, T tamper, i isolated and U unsealed.

Why is my keypad beeping or showing a trouble light?
Most keypads beep or light up a trouble indicator when something needs attention, such as a low backup battery, a power cut or a lost phone or internet connection. Your user guide explains what each light or code means on your model. If it keeps happening, or you are not sure, call your installer or monitoring company.
