Arm (away)0ormaster code
- Close all protected doors and windows. The green ready light must be on before the system will arm.
- Press 0, or key in the master code, pressing the keys slowly. The system turns on.
- On a BHS-1000C as supplied, the exit time is 80 seconds. A door left ajar sets off the alarm when it ends.
Arm while home#60or#6master code
- The card calls this bypassing the motion detectors: the inside is off and the doors and windows are on.
- Press #, 6, then 0, or #, 6 and the master code.
- Add # 5 at the end to make the doors instant too: opening one then sets off the alarm with no entry delay.
- On a BHS-1000C, # 5 also ends the exit time at once: the doors are instant straight away.
Disarmmaster code
- Key in the master code, pressing the keys slowly. The system turns off.
- If an alarm goes off, wait for your monitoring company's call.
- Accidental alarm on a BHS-1000C? Your code, then # 9. Within 20 seconds of a burglary alarm, nothing is reported.
- After those 20 seconds, # 9 sends a cancel signal with the alarm.
Clear the keypad#0
- Keyed in something wrong? Press # then 0 to clear the keypad, then start again.
- On a BHS-1000C you can instead key in the whole code again: it only reads the last 3 digits.
- On a BHS-1000C, 15 number keys pressed without a valid code lock the keypad out.
Reset smoke detectors#8
- Press # then 8 to reset the smoke detectors.
- The same keys test the siren and battery: see Test the system.
Panic alarm
- The keypad has a police, a fire and a medical emergency button. Press the one you need.
- The alarm goes on and a signal is sent. Wait for your monitoring company to call.
- Key in the master code to reset an emergency button alarm.

- Auxiliary codes are extra codes besides the master code. The card gives their numbers as 1, or 2 to 7.
- Press *, key in the master code, then the auxiliary code's number, then the new code. Press the keys slowly.
- The new code is saved in the system.
- On a BHS-1000C, every code is 3 digits.
Test the system#7or#8
- Press # then 7 to send a test signal. Your monitoring company will call you.
- On a BHS-1000C, a short siren blast and a beep from the keypad confirm the test.
- Press # then 8 to test the siren and battery. No signal is sent unless the battery is low.
Trouble lights*master code0
- A blinking trouble light can be reset once the green ready light is on.
- Close all protected doors and windows to bring on the green ready light.
- Press *, key in the master code, then press 0. The trouble light goes off.
- BHS-1000C: if your installer turned on the line monitor, a cut phone line shows a trouble while the system is off.
- If the system is on when the line is cut, only the siren sounds. Nothing is sent to your monitoring company.
Why is my keypad beeping or showing a trouble light?
Most keypads beep or light up a trouble indicator when something needs attention, such as a low backup battery, a power cut or a lost phone or internet connection. Your user guide explains what each light or code means on your model. If it keeps happening, or you are not sure, call your installer or monitoring company.

Is anyone watching your alarm?
An alarm that only makes a noise relies on someone hearing it. A monitored alarm reports to our A1 graded, NZSA approved control room, watched 24/7 by a team that is New Zealand owned and operated. We can monitor most existing alarms, so you may not need a new one. Thinking about a new alarm or security cameras? Ask us for a quote.
