- Key in your code, then press AWAY (the 2 key). The keypad beeps twice and the red ARMED light comes on.
- Leave by the entry/exit door before the exit delay ends.
- MAXIMUM (MAX on some keypads: the 4 key) arms the same way with no entry delay: opening any door sets it off at once.
- If your installer has turned on quick arming, press # instead of your code.

- Key in your code, then press STAY (the 3 key). Doors and windows arm; you can move about inside.

- Anyone coming in later must disarm within the entry delay.

- Come in by the entry/exit door. The keypad beeps slowly during the entry delay.
- Key in your code, then press OFF (the 1 key). One beep, and READY shows.
- Press each key within 2 seconds of the last (3 seconds on a 4140XMPT2), or the entry is cancelled.
- Disarming also clears any bypasses.

- When it's safe, key in your code and press OFF. The display shows the zone that went off.
- Fix the cause (close the door or window), then key your code and press OFF again to clear the display.

- Key in your code, then press CHIME (the 9 key). Chime works only while disarmed.
- Opening a door or window now gives three beeps.

- No alarms go to the monitoring centre during the test. Key your code and press OFF to finish.
Trouble lights

- The keypad beeps now and then as a reminder. Alarms don't go to the monitoring centre during the test.

Why is my keypad beeping or showing a trouble light?
Most keypads beep or light up a trouble indicator when something needs attention, such as a low backup battery, a power cut or a lost phone or internet connection. Your user guide explains what each light or code means on your model. If it keeps happening, or you are not sure, call your installer or monitoring company.

Is anyone watching your alarm?
An alarm that only makes a noise relies on someone hearing it. A monitored alarm reports to our A1 graded, NZSA approved control room, watched 24/7 by a team that is New Zealand owned and operated. We can monitor most existing alarms, so you may not need a new one. Thinking about a new alarm or security cameras? Ask us for a quote.
