  • Arm (away)your codeOn
    • MCM calls zones sections. Every section light must be out, or isolated, to arm (iRIS 8 software 7.68 and later allows an open exit/entry door).
    • The Power light should be steady, not flashing. The Program, Fire and Aux lights, if fitted, should be out.
    • Key in your code and press ON. The On light flashes and the beeper warns while the exit timer runs.
    • Leave only through your exit/entry door before the timer ends. The On light then stays on.
    • Still open when the timer ends? The siren and strobe sound for 2 seconds and the entry timer starts: turn it off before that ends.

    • Coming in through an exit/entry door starts the entry timer. Key in your code and press OFF before it ends.

    • Fire, panic and tamper inputs, if fitted, stay armed all the time.
    • If duress is enabled, add one to your code’s last digit; a final 9 becomes 0. This sends a silent duress signal.

    • On the iRIS 8, if the mains stays off for more than 60 minutes, the dialler reports it. Your installer can switch this warning and report off.

Why is my keypad beeping or showing a trouble light?

Most keypads beep or light up a trouble indicator when something needs attention, such as a low backup battery, a power cut or a lost phone or internet connection. Your user guide explains what each light or code means on your model. If it keeps happening, or you are not sure, call your installer or monitoring company.

Is anyone watching your alarm?

An alarm that only makes a noise relies on someone hearing it. A monitored alarm reports to our A1 graded, NZSA approved control room, watched 24/7 by a team that is New Zealand owned and operated. We can monitor most existing alarms, so you may not need a new one. Thinking about a new alarm or security cameras? Ask us for a quote.
