- Open the keypad cover first. Your installer picks one of three ways: [ARM] alone, your code then [ENTER], or [ARM], your code, then [ENTER].
- The Armed A light comes on, or Armed B, or both, for the areas you armed.
- Forgot something? If your installer allows it, [ARM] during the exit time disarms again.
- Keyed a code wrong? Press [ENTER] to clear it and start again.
Arm while homeSTAYorSTAYyour codeENTER
- Open the keypad cover first. Stay mode arms only the zones your installer picked. Some Alert manuals call it Monitor mode.
- Press [STAY] ([MONITOR] on some keypads), or that key, your code and [ENTER], as your installer set it up.
- The Armed A (or B) light flashes while stay mode is on.
- Press [ENTER] straight after arming to arm at once. It also drops the entry delay, so a triggered stay zone alarms straight away.

- Open the keypad cover first. Key in your code and press [ENTER]. The Armed lights go out.
- Stay mode: your code and [ENTER], or [STAY] on its own if your installer allows it.
- Your code and [ENTER] also reset an alarm and turn the sirens off.
- If it won't reset, the alarm was in an area your code or this keypad doesn't cover.
Bypass a zoneBYPASSzoneENTER
- Open the keypad cover first. Each detector or door contact is a zone. Bypass the ones you want left off, before you arm.
- Press [BYPASS] ([EXCLUDE] on some keypads), then the zone numbers (1 to 8). Each zone's light comes on. Then press [ENTER].
- On the Alert LED keypad, the Ready/Excl light flashes while a zone is bypassed.
- Bypasses clear when you disarm. A bypassed 24-hour zone stays bypassed until you take it off.
- You can only bypass zones in the areas your keypad is set up for.

- Open the keypad cover first. On the LED keypad, the System or Trouble light flashes when there's an event you haven't looked at.
- Press [MEMORY]. Faults still present show first: the System light with a zone light for each fault.
- Events then play back, newest first, with a beep between each. The panel keeps the last 127.
- Press [ENTER] to stop. A Trouble light left on steady means a tamper alarm hasn't reset.
Chime on or offCONTROLthenPROGRAM
- Open the keypad cover first. Chime (day) zones sound the keypad when a detector sees movement. Your installer sets them up and decides if you can switch them off.
- LED keypad: press [CONTROL], then [PROGRAM]. The Program light flashes while chime is off.
- Press [CONTROL] then [PROGRAM] again to turn it back on. The Program light goes out.
- LCD keypad: press [CHIME]. The screen shows CHIME OFF or CHIME ON.

- Open the keypad cover first. LED keypad: press [PANIC], or [1] and [3] together. [4] and [6] send fire, [7] and [9] medical.
- LCD keypad: [CHIME] and [CONTROL] for panic, [A] and [B] for fire, [B] and [CHIME] for medical.
- On the LED keypad the two-key alarms are off unless your installer turns them on.
- Your installer also sets whether [PANIC] works at once or needs a 2-second hold.
- Your code and [ENTER] reset the alarm.

Why is my keypad beeping or showing a trouble light?
Most keypads beep or light up a trouble indicator when something needs attention, such as a low backup battery, a power cut or a lost phone or internet connection. Your user guide explains what each light or code means on your model. If it keeps happening, or you are not sure, call your installer or monitoring company.

Is anyone watching your alarm?
An alarm that only makes a noise relies on someone hearing it. A monitored alarm reports to our A1 graded, NZSA approved control room, watched 24/7 by a team that is New Zealand owned and operated. We can monitor most existing alarms, so you may not need a new one. Thinking about a new alarm or security cameras? Ask us for a quote.
