Arm (away)your code
- All the green zone lights must be on. An unlit number is an open door or window, and the system won't arm with one open.
- Key in your 5-digit code, pressing each key until it beeps. Your code is your user number followed by your own 4 digits.
- The red ARM light comes on and the green lights go off.
- Leave by your delay door before the exit time ends.
Arm while homeyour code*
- The Instant (Home) feature is for staying in when nobody else is due home: the delay doors then alarm straight away.
- Arm with your code, then press [*]. The zone 1 green light comes on to show Instant is set.
- To leave some zones off while you're in, bypass them before you arm (see Bypass a zone).
- Instant clears itself when you disarm.
Disarmyour code
- Come in by a delay door. Steady buzzing from the keypad reminds you to disarm.
- Key in your 5-digit code. The red ARM light goes off.
- ARM light blinking fast? An alarm happened. Once disarmed, press [#] to stop the blinking.
- 7 to 10 beeps in a row mean a signal has reached your monitoring station.
Bypass a zone9zone
- With the system disarmed (red light off), press [9], then the zone number: [9] then [3] bypasses zone 3.
- That zone's green light blinks slowly. Repeat for more zones, then arm with your code.
- Bypasses clear when you disarm, except after a burglary alarm: then unbypass them yourself.
- To unbypass one zone, press [9] and its number again. [#] unbypasses them all.
- An XL1219 with auto-unbypass (an installer option) doesn't need unbypassing after an alarm.
Panic alarm*+#
- If your installer has set up panic, press [*] and [#] together for about half a second.
- It signals your monitoring station, and may or may not sound at the house, as your installer chose.
- A silent panic gives no confirming buzzer.
- To stop an audible panic, press [#] for about half a second.
Change a code*master codeuser numbernew code
- All code changes use User 1's code, with the system disarmed. Never use 9 in a code.
- Press [*], User 1's code, then a user number: 2 or 3 on XL1218; 2 to 7 on XL1219. Use 0 only if your installer confirms ambush is off.
- The zone 1 light blinks slowly. Key in the new 4 digits and it stops. That user's code is their number plus those digits.
- User 1's own code: [*], [1], the 4-digit fallback code the system came with, [1] again, then the new 4 digits.
- To erase a code: [*], User 1's code, the user number, then [#]. User 1 can't erase their own.
Trouble lights90
- The amber A.C., FIRE and BAT lights stay on when all is well. One going out means a problem.
- A trouble buzzer may sound too, if your installer set it up. Press [9] then [0] to silence it.
- Once the problem is fixed, press [9] [0] again to turn the trouble buzzer back on.
- Your installer will tell you about any 24-hour zones: their green lights work differently.
- About 7 to 10 beeps in a row mean a signal has reached your monitoring company.

Why is my keypad beeping or showing a trouble light?
Most keypads beep or light up a trouble indicator when something needs attention, such as a low backup battery, a power cut or a lost phone or internet connection. Your user guide explains what each light or code means on your model. If it keeps happening, or you are not sure, call your installer or monitoring company.

Is anyone watching your alarm?
An alarm that only makes a noise relies on someone hearing it. A monitored alarm reports to our A1 graded, NZSA approved control room, watched 24/7 by a team that is New Zealand owned and operated. We can monitor most existing alarms, so you may not need a new one. Thinking about a new alarm or security cameras? Ask us for a quote.
