  • Arm (away)0ENDor0your codeEND
    • Lock the doors and windows. The panel must not be in program, memory or exclude mode.
    • Press [0] (ARM) then [END]. If your installer set arming to need a code: [0], your code, then [END].
    • The ARMED light comes on and the keypad beeps 3 times. Leave before the exit time ends: 3 more beeps then mean it armed properly.
    • A short siren as the exit time ends means a zone was still open and has been excluded. Go back, disarm, check and arm again.

  • Arm while home8END
    • Ness calls this Monitor mode. It arms only the zones set up for it, usually the doors and windows.
    • Press [8] (MONITOR) then [END]. The panel beeps 3 times and the ARMED/MONITOR light flashes.
    • A monitored zone can beep, give a short warning or sound the full siren, depending on the monitor type set. Your code and [END] stop an alarm.
    • To leave Monitor mode, key in your code and [END], or arm the usual way. After an alarm, the panel's zone light flashes until you leave.

    • Come in through your entry door. The panel beeps once a second to remind you, if your installer left this on.
    • Key in your code and press [END] before the entry time ends. The ARMED light goes out. Your code and [END] also stop a sounding alarm.
    • Made a mistake? Press [END] and start again. Three wrong codes set off the alarm.
    • A continuous beep as you come in, or a flashing strobe outside, means an alarm happened while armed. Check alarm memory.

  • Bypass a zone0ENDthen7ENDzoneENDEND
    • Ness calls this Exclude: an excluded zone is ignored. You can only exclude while the exit time runs, so arm first ([0] [END], or [0], your code, [END]).
    • Press [7] (EXCLUDE) then [END]. The panel's lights go out, then its ZONE EXCLUDED light lights steadily.
    • Key in each zone number, then [END]; its zone light on the panel comes on. Key a zone in again to undo it.
    • Press [END] to save and finish. Excluded zones come back when you next disarm.

    • Press [5] (MEMORY) then [END]. The panel beeps 3 times and its ALARM MEMORY light comes on.
    • The panel's other lights now show what happened (see the table). It works while disarmed, armed or in Monitor mode.
    • Press [END] to leave.

    • Fire: [2] (FIRE) then [END] sounds the sirens, and sends the alarm if you're monitored.
    • Medical: [1] (MEDICAL) then [END] sends a silent alarm. It only helps if you're monitored.
    • Key in your code and [END] to stop the siren. Panic doesn't work while the panel is in program, memory or exclude mode.

Why is my keypad beeping or showing a trouble light?

Most keypads beep or light up a trouble indicator when something needs attention, such as a low backup battery, a power cut or a lost phone or internet connection. Your user guide explains what each light or code means on your model. If it keeps happening, or you are not sure, call your installer or monitoring company.

Is anyone watching your alarm?

An alarm that only makes a noise relies on someone hearing it. A monitored alarm reports to our A1 graded, NZSA approved control room, watched 24/7 by a team that is New Zealand owned and operated. We can monitor most existing alarms, so you may not need a new one. Thinking about a new alarm or security cameras? Ask us for a quote.
