- Close all doors and windows. On the pictured PRO-LX, open the keypad flap to reach the keys.
- PRO-L or PRO-LD: press [Arm] then [Enter]. If your installer set it to need a code, press [Arm], your code, then [Enter].
- PRO-LX: use ARM alone, ARM then ENTER, or ARM, your code, ENTER, as your installer set it.
- You hear 3 beeps and the ARM light comes on. Leave before the exit time runs out.
- A long beep means it didn't arm: the code was wrong, or an alarm needs resetting with your code first.

- PRO-L or PRO-LD: press [2] then [Enter], or [2], your code, then [Enter]. Ness calls this Monitor mode.
- It arms only the zones your installer chose, usually doors and windows.
- PRO-LX: these choices are for one Monitor area. With dual Monitor areas, press MONITOR then 1 or 2; add ENTER for two-button operation.
- You hear 3 beeps. The ARM light flashes (PRO-L, PRO-LD), or the MONITOR light flashes slowly (PRO-LX).
- To come out of Monitor mode, key in your code and press Enter. That also silences an alarm.

- Come in through your usual entry door. The keypad beeps to remind you, unless your installer turned that off.
- Key in your code, then press Enter. You hear 3 beeps and the ARM light goes out.
- Made a mistake? Press Enter and start again. Three wrong codes in a row normally set off an alarm.
- Your code and Enter also reset an alarm. A flashing strobe outside means there was an alarm since you armed.
- PRO-LX duress: use the duress digit your installer gave you before your code, then Enter. It disarms and may report duress to your monitoring company.

- Ness calls bypassing Exclude: an excluded zone can't set off the alarm.
- PRO-L or PRO-LD: press [Exclude] then [Enter] (or [Exclude], your code, [Enter]). The Exclude light comes on.
- PRO-LX: use EXCLUDE alone, EXCLUDE then ENTER, or EXCLUDE, your code, ENTER, as your installer set it.
- Key in each zone number and press Enter; its light comes on. Key it in again to undo.
- Finish with [Enter] (PRO-L, PRO-LD) or [EXCLUDE] [ENTER] (PRO-LX). Exclude then flashes. Zones come back after the next arm and disarm.

- PRO-L/PRO-LD: disarm, then press Memory and Enter, adding your code between them if required.
- Its last eight events flash up a second apart, newest first, with a beep. A flashing Memory light means an alarm.
- The PRO-LX has no MEMORY key: press [VIEW] then [6] (add [ENTER] if yours is set to two-button). Its MEMORY light flashes fast for a new alarm.
- PRO-LX: press [VIEW] again for each earlier event, then [VIEW] [ENTER] to leave.

- Key 3 is the Reset output. Ask your installer whether yours uses it for the smoke detectors.
- With the panel disarmed and no alarms showing, key in your code and press [ENTER]. The TEST light comes on.
- Press [3]: the Reset output and number light 3 switch on. Press [3] again to switch it off.
- Press [ENTER] to leave test mode. Don't press 1, 2, 8 or 9 here: they sound the sirens.

- PRO-L or PRO-LD: press [3], then [Enter].
- The PRO-LX has a PANIC key: press and hold it for half a second, or press [PANIC] then [ENTER] if yours is set to two-button.

- To stop the siren, key in your code and press Enter.
- PRO-L or PRO-LD: panic doesn't work while you're in Program, Memory or Exclude mode.

- The keys shown change code 1. Disarm first and use the master code. Open the PRO-LX keypad flap.
- Press Program, the master code, then Enter. The PROGRAM light comes on.
- PRO-L/PRO-LD: Program, option 11 to 25, Enter. PRO-LX: PROGRAM, code number, ENTER (code 1 or ordinary codes only).
- Key in the new code (3 to 6 digits) and Enter, then the same code again and Enter.
- Leave with Program then Enter. A new code starting with 0 stops that code working.
Trouble lights
- PRO-L or PRO-LD: 10 beeps, or a flashing MAINS or BATTERY light, mean mains power is off or the battery is low.
- PRO-LX: continuous beeping or a fast-flashing POWER light is a power problem. Press [VIEW] [4] to see which one.
- PRO-LX: if SYSTEM or TAMPER flashes fast, press [VIEW] [3] or [VIEW] [2]. The lit number says what (see the table).
- Your code then Enter resets an alarm. On a PRO-L or PRO-LD this also stops non-stop alarm beeps; a PRO-LX alarm can start again while the fault lasts.
- Check the plug-pack is plugged in and switched on. For anything else, call your installer.

Why is my keypad beeping or showing a trouble light?
Most keypads beep or light up a trouble indicator when something needs attention, such as a low backup battery, a power cut or a lost phone or internet connection. Your user guide explains what each light or code means on your model. If it keeps happening, or you are not sure, call your installer or monitoring company.

Is anyone watching your alarm?
An alarm that only makes a noise relies on someone hearing it. A monitored alarm reports to our A1 graded, NZSA approved control room, watched 24/7 by a team that is New Zealand owned and operated. We can monitor most existing alarms, so you may not need a new one. Thinking about a new alarm or security cameras? Ask us for a quote.
