  • Arm (away)your codeorholdAway
    • Close doors and windows and keep clear of motion detectors: the green Ready light must be on.
    • Key in your access code. The keypad beeps fast, the red Armed light comes on, then it beeps every second during the exit time.
    • Leave by the entry/exit door: that tells it you're out, so the inside zones arm too. If nobody opens that door, it arms in Stay.
    • At the end only the Armed light stays on. Holding [Away] for 2 seconds also arms Away, if your installer has turned it on.
    • Siren straight after you leave? The door wasn't shut properly. Go back in, key in your code before the entry time ends, and arm again.

  • Arm while homeyour codeorholdStay
    • Stay arms the doors and windows but leaves the motion detectors off, so you can move about inside.
    • With the Ready light on, key in your code and don't open the entry/exit door. The inside zones switch off by themselves.
    • On the NT9010, only the Armed and System lights stay on when the exit time ends.
    • In Stay, [*][1] turns the inside zones on too. To go into those areas afterwards, disarm with your code.
    • [*][9] then your code arms with no entry time: the Armed light flashes as a reminder. Holding [Stay] 2 seconds arms Stay, if set up.

  • Disarmyour code
    • Come in through the entry/exit door: the keypad beeps to remind you. Any other door sets the alarm off at once.
    • Key in your code before the beeping stops. The red Armed light goes out.
    • One long beep means a wrong code: try again.
    • If something went off while you were out, the NT9010 says how many alarms are in memory. Someone may still be inside: go somewhere safe and call for help.
    • Alarm sounding? Your code silences it. If it was a mistake, ring your monitoring station straight away.

  • Bypass a zone*12-digit zone#
    • A bypassed zone stays off when you next arm. Bypass before arming: it can't be done once the system is on.
    • With the system off, press [*][1]. Key in your code if it asks.
    • Key in the zone number as 2 digits, 01 to 32. The NT9010 reads out the zones that are bypassed.
    • Key the same number again to bring a zone back. Press [#] when you're done.
    • Disarming clears bypasses, except on 24-hour zones: undo those yourself the same way.

  • Alarm memory*3
    • After an alarm, disarming makes the NT9010 say how many alarms are in memory, and which zones.
    • Press [#] to stop the announcement. The yellow System light stays on.
    • Press [*][3] any time to hear the zones again.
    • Arming the system clears the memory.

  • Chime on or off*4orholdChime
    • Press [*][4]. Three beeps mean chime is now on; one long beep means it's off.
    • Holding [Chime] for 2 seconds does the same, if your installer has turned the button on.
    • If your installer has set chime up, it beeps when the doors or windows they chose open or close, and may say which.
Pages 7, 26 of the 9010 Envoy User
  • False fire alarm#
    • A pulsing siren means fire. If there might be a fire, get everyone out now.
    • No fire? Press [#] within 30 seconds. The alarm and the call to the monitoring station wait 90 seconds while you clear the smoke.
    • If the detector still senses smoke after 90 seconds, the alarm starts again. If not, the system goes back to normal.
    • Missed the 30 seconds? Key in your code to silence it, then ring the monitoring station.
    • Your installer may have set this up differently: ask them how yours works.

    • On the NT9010, hold both keys with a shield on them (the bottom pair on the left) together for 2 seconds.
    • Both flame keys send a fire alarm; both triangle keys an auxiliary alarm, or both cross keys a medical one on medical models.
    • They only work if your installer has turned them on. If set up, beeps tell you it was accepted.

    • Key in the 2-digit code number: 01 to 32 for users, 40 for the master code.
    • Key in the new code, 4 digits unless your installer says otherwise. It replaces any code already there.
    • Press [#] to finish. Don't use the factory code or an easy-to-guess one.
    • To erase a code: [*][5], the master code, its number, then [*]. The master code can't be erased.

  • Trouble lights*2
    • On the NT9010, a trouble turns on the yellow System light and the keypad beeps twice every 10 seconds. Any key stops the beeps.
    • Press [*][2] to hear the troubles read out. [#] stops the announcement.

Why is my keypad beeping or showing a trouble light?

Most keypads beep or light up a trouble indicator when something needs attention, such as a low backup battery, a power cut or a lost phone or internet connection. Your user guide explains what each light or code means on your model. If it keeps happening, or you are not sure, call your installer or monitoring company.

Is anyone watching your alarm?

An alarm that only makes a noise relies on someone hearing it. A monitored alarm reports to our A1 graded, NZSA approved control room, watched 24/7 by a team that is New Zealand owned and operated. We can monitor most existing alarms, so you may not need a new one. Thinking about a new alarm or security cameras? Ask us for a quote.
