Keypad cheat sheet

• Arm (away)your codeorholdAway

  • LCD4501 only; WLS910 needs its own guide. On the LCD keypad, close doors and windows and stop movement near motion detectors.
  • At the arming prompt, enter your code; or hold [Away] for 2 seconds if enabled, then code if asked.
  • If your code covers several partitions, choose the one shown by pressing its bracketed number or [*].
  • The LCD shows 'Exit Delay in Progress', Armed comes on and the keypad beeps three times.
  • Leave through your entry/exit door before the countdown ends.

  • LCD4501 only; WLS910 needs its own guide. If your installer has turned on Stay arming, key in your code and don't leave by the entry/exit door.
  • Or hold [Stay] for 2 seconds if enabled, then enter your code if asked. Stay inside.
  • Press [*][1] to arm the inside zones too. After that, disarm before going near a motion detector.
  • [*][9] then your code arms with no entry delay. The Armed light flashes and the inside zones are bypassed.
  • With no entry delay, opening an entry door sets the alarm off straight away.

• Disarmyour code

  • LCD4501 only; WLS910 needs its own guide. Come in through your usual entry/exit door. The keypad beeps while the entry time runs.
  • Key in your code. The Armed light goes out and the beeping stops.
  • Made a mistake? Press [#] and key in your code again. A wrong code gives a steady 2-second beep.
  • If there was an alarm, the LCD keypad shows 'View Memory' and the zone's name for 2 minutes, or until you press [#].
  • Alarm by mistake? Key in your code to silence it, then ring your monitoring company.

• Bypass a zone*1then1

  • LCD4501 only; WLS910 needs its own guide. Bypassing leaves a zone unprotected. Disarming clears ordinary bypasses; fire-zone bypasses need manual removal.
  • With the system disarmed, press [*][1]. Key in your code if the keypad asks.
  • Press [1] (Bypass Zones). Scroll to the zone and press [*]; the LCD keypad shows a * beside its name.
  • Press [#] when finished. To clear bypasses manually, return to [*][1] and select [2] (Clear Bypasses).
  • In the same menu, [0] shows only open or bypassed zones, [2] clears all bypasses and [3] repeats last time's.

• Alarm memory*3

  • LCD4501 only; WLS910 needs its own guide. After an alarm, the LCD keypad shows 'View Memory' and the zone's name when you disarm.
  • Press [*][3] to see the alarms from the last time the system was armed.
  • Press [#] when you've finished.
  • Tamper alarms don't show in the memory.

  • LCD4501 only; WLS910 needs its own guide. A pulsing siren is a fire alarm; the LCD shows 'First Fire Alarm'. If there may be a fire, follow your evacuation plan.
  • False alarm? Enter a code with Fire Silence permission. The LCD shows 'Fire Bell Has Been Silenced'.
  • The Trouble light and beeps remain until you reset. Enter a valid code again to reset the fire zones.
  • If a detector still senses fire, the alarm starts again.
  • Ring your monitoring company if the fire alarm was false.

  • LCD4501 only; WLS910 needs its own guide. Press [*][5], then a master code. Press [0] (User No. Search).
  • Key in the user number, such as 0002, then press [*]. Only your installer normally changes user 0001, the master code.
  • Press [0] (Program Code), key in the new 4-digit code, then [#]. Pressing [1] (Erase Data) deletes the code instead.
  • New user? Press [6] (Edit Part. Mask) and [*] so Partition 1 shows Y. The code won't work without it.
  • Press [#] until you're out of code programming.

• Set the date and timemaster code9

  • LCD4501 only; WLS910 needs its own guide. Key in a master code, then press [9]. The LCD keypad shows 'System Master Menu'.
  • Scroll to 'Set System Time', press [*] and key in the time, 24-hour: 1430 for 2:30 pm.
  • Scroll to 'Set System Date', press [*] and key in the date, month first (MMDDYY): 092826 for 28 September 2026.
  • Press [#] to finish (twice on version 3.3).

• Test the system*6master codethen10

  • LCD4501 only; WLS910 needs its own guide. The test sounds the siren for 2 seconds and sends a test signal to your monitoring company.
  • Press [*][6], then a master (or supervisor) code.
  • On version 3.3, press [1] (Functions menu), then [0] (System Test).
  • On version 3.0, scroll to 'System Test' and press [*].
  • Press [#] when the test has finished.

• Trouble lights*2

  • LCD4501 only; WLS910 needs its own guide. A trouble turns on the Trouble light and the keypad beeps every 10 seconds. Press [#] to silence it.
  • After a power cut the keypad stays quiet, unless your installer turned power-cut beeps on. Fire Trouble and Fire Bell Silence beeps can't be silenced.
  • Press [*][2], then scroll with the arrow keys through the list of troubles.
  • The Trouble light stays on until the problem is fixed. If your installer set it up, power and battery troubles also wait until you view them in [*][2].
  • For Loss of Time, set the time and date again. Anything else that stays on needs your installer.

  AC Trouble	Mains power is off. It should clear when power returns; if your power is fine, call for service
  Battery Trouble	The panel's backup battery is low
  TLM Trouble	A phone line problem. If your phones work normally, call for service
  FTC Trouble	The panel couldn't reach the monitoring station. It clears once a later call gets through
  Device Low Batt	A wireless device has a low battery: press [*] to see which
  Device Fault, Device Tamper	A wireless zone has stopped checking in, or been tampered with: press [*] to see which
  Loss of Time	The clock was lost: set the time and date again
  Fire Bell Silence	A fire alarm was silenced but not reset: key in your code again
